Purpose
The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide insight, resources, and counsel to St. Mary School and the Office for Schools at the Diocese of San Diego in support of the school’s mission and activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Advisory committee members will support St. Mary in the following capacities:
- Advisors: provide critical insight that may help support the mission and activities of the school.
- Connectors: identify and make connections to the right stakeholders leading to opportunities and resources that would strengthen the school’s impact and sustainability.
- Ambassadors: advocate and promote the mission, activities and impact of St. Mary School.
- Fundraisers: cultivate donors and seek additional resources to support the sustainability of the school.
Membership Profile
The following membership guidelines were agreed upon for the outreach and selection of potential members for the advisory committee:
Individuals who:
- have a commitment to advance Catholic education in the greater Escondido region
- have relevant expertise that benefits St. Mary School’s educational model
- are community leaders or have access to key stakeholder in the community
Terms of Service
The St. Mary School Advisory Committee members will serve a term of two (2) years with an option to renew their term of service up to two consecutive terms.

The work of the advisory committee will be guided by the following values:
- Commitment to the vision and model of a Blended Learning Catholic school.
- Supports the development of the whole child through Catholic Identity and the advancement of the graduate profile.
- Collaborative spirit for networking and sharing resources.
- Sensitivity to the interest of the school and integrity to the community it serves.
- Inclusive environment based on respect and trust.
