Congratulations first grade families on a wonderful job by our class at May Crowning. The children looked great and exemplified what it means to honor our Blessed Mother.

SeaWorld information and permission forms went home on Thursday, 5/3. Please complete and return all paperwork by Wednesday, 5/9.

First Grade Weekly Update

 A big thank you to Mrs. Handy for reading to our class this week and sharing with them the fun event of wishing on a star – I heard some really great wishes!                                                                                                         We also saw some cool reactions with different types of matter. I think there are some future scientists in first grade!                                                                                                                                                        Please be on the lookout for Sea World field trip info to come home the week of 4/30.

First Grade Weekly Update

Throughout the past week, I have taken notice of how much improvement and growth our class is showing, especially in reading and math. I am excited to watch the first graders continue to develop their abilities as we approach the final weeks of our year together. 

A friendly reminder to please check your child’s folder each evening as they are coming home with homework on a more regular basis.

First Grade Weekly Update

What a great week in first grade! We are continuing to master our math facts. Mrs. Martinez gave us a super-fun Pete the Cat Mystery Reader experience; complete with Easter treats! Also, first graders completed a STEM challenge on Wednesday where they constructed a nest for a baby chick – a Peep! They worked on their engineering skills and learned about balancing a structure.

It’s hard to believe Easter is already here! I hope everyone has a blessed holiday and a relaxing break.

Thank you so much to Mrs. Lake for being our Mystery Reader this week. The students loved creating paper dolls! We also learned about different kinds of weather and ways to check and measure it. Coming up in First Grade…

Thank you so much to Dr. Bliesath for talking to our class about how to keep their teeth healthy! We had an awesome trip to the zoo this week, too. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend with us. Animal reports will be due Tuesday.
