Our big news for the week is that we found the Gingerbread Man! After a long, hard search we found him hiding in Ms. Silady’s room (grade 4/5). The children were very excited and we each got a taste of him
We will begin Super Stars, sharing and classroom volunteers the first week in October. I will send a calendar home soon with your child’s Super Star week.
I am still in need of a room parent, afternoon rotation helpers on Mon/Tues/Thurs., a computer assistant on Mondays and a Music monitor on Thursdays.
Homework
Please make sure you are emptying your child’s folder each night and reviewing their work with them.
The first sound bag has been sent home. Please have your child fill it with 4-5 small items that start with the sound of Bb and bring it in on Monday. All items will be returned by Friday.
You should keep at home your child’s black and white math workbook. Please tear out the pages as assigned and return those pages to me each Friday. The first math homework will be assigned next Friday.
Religion
We celebrated Mary’s birthday on September 8th. We learned how God made the world and everything in it.
Reading
This week we read 4 different versions of the Gingerbread Man. We completed a lot of activities related to the story.
Math
We have been working on identifying objects that are the same and different. We also made a graph of how we ate a little gingerbread cookie.
Cooking
We made the Gingerbread Man cookie.
Please make sure your child has a snack each day separate from their lunch. They keep their snack in their cubby and their lunch on the lunch cart.
Enjoy your weekend!
God Bless, Mrs. Taylor
