Kindergarten Weekly – August 31-September 4, 2015
We had a great first week. I hope your child is enjoying school. The children are getting use to our classroom routines and becoming more familiar with the class expectations.
Thank you for coming to our Back to School Night. I still need a room parent to help our class organize events (mostly sending out emails to get volunteers to help at an event). Our Arts in Action program needs at least 1 volunteer every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 1-2. You do not need to be artistic to help out. I could also use help M/T/TH with rotations from 2:25-3:00. Along with help in computers on Mondays from 1:40-2:25. Grandparents, aunts and uncles are always welcome too! Your child loves to see you in the classroom, if you have anytime that you can help, even if it’s once a month.
Please welcome our 3 new families (they did not attend St. Mary’s Preschool) Emma Calhoun, Lilly Gibbs, and Grace Perkins. Our class consists of 9 girls and 5 boys.
Religion
We learned about how God created everything.
Reading
We read a variety of stories about the first day of school and how we should behave in class. We will read a variety of stories about the Gingerbread Boy next week and compare how the stories are alike and different.

I conducted 2 math assessments for numbers up to 10. We will being patterns next week.
Cooking
We will begin cooking next week.

We will begin our unit on the 5 senses next week.
Enjoy your 3-day weekend!
God Bless,
