Kinder Newsletter for 5-1-2015

As of today we do not have enough drivers for our field trip (only 4) on Wednesday to San Pasqual High School Farm Days, which means we may need to cancel.
I also still have missing permission slips, please get them in by Monday and sign up to drive if you are available and Live Scanned.

The permission slip for the Natural History Museum In-class Tide pools will go home next week; the cost is $7.50 per child.  They come to us so no driving is involved, but I do need 2 more volunteers to work at a center.

HOMEWORK:  Please practice the reading and sight word list your child has been given. Please let Mrs. Prieto know when your child is ready to test.  All students should have already passed list 1.

Math: Workbook pages 103-104.

Please have your child read to you or read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

Religion We are learning about Ordinary time in the church year. We discussed this Sunday’s Gospel.

Reading This week we read Johnny Appleseed, Seeds, How Groundhog’s Garden Grew, and From Caterpillar to Butterfly.

Math We are working on Chapter 9 about money, so please practice identifying and counting money.  We are also writing numbers to 100.

Cooking This week we had mud (chocolate pudding) cups with gummy worms!

Science/Social Studies
We continue our unit on plant life, we each planted a bean seed and next week we will plant our outside garden.  We also made a flower art project and identified all the parts of the plant.

God Bless,

Mrs. Taylor
