November is here!

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are all doing well and that you are as eager as I’m for the holidays to get here. I just love getting together with family and catching up on our endeavours.

I love teaching the children the true meaning of each holiday that we celebrate and this year I would like to decorate a Christmas tree with the 6th graders. I will, of course, make sure to teach them the true meaning of CHRISTmas as we explore our lesson.

My wish is to know if anyone would like to donate the tree for our classroom. It does not have to be a big tree, 4′ is big enough. Let me know if this is something that you are interested in donating to our classroom.

My second wish is to get a group of parents to help me plan the celebration for December 12th. The 6th graders will be re-enacting the Apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. If you think you can help let me know and I will send you details of what I plan to do, and ask for your input.

To conclude, I just want to thank all of you for a wonderful 1st quarter of school. The students have been adjusting to their new curriculum and I have been adjusting to their particular needs. Every 6th grade class is different, and sometimes what I have done in prior years does not work for every class. Please continue to communicate with me and let me know any concerns that you may have. I like to consider myself a pro-active educator, in the sense that I make your comments count. I love the feedback that you give me, it only betters our classroom environment and makes learning for the students more enjoyable.

God Bless!

Mrs. Martinez
