Wednesday 9/18– First Grade Bake Sale

What is a Bake Sale?  Each class sponsors a bake sale each month.  All classes visit bake sales(in the hall) and have the opportunity to purchase baked goods, nachos, and other treats.  The proceeds go to St. Mary School.

How much money should I send with my child?  A brownie or cookie is usually $0.50, sometimes cupcakes or donuts are $1.  Kindergarten visits bake sales in the morning and the afternoon.  I will send home a ziplock baggy with your child’s name on it the evening before a bake sale.  Please place all money for the bake sale in that baggy.  This prevents money from getting lost.

Thursday 9/19– Team Day  (Please note:  This year’s team shirt has not arrived yet.  For this first Team Day, your child can wear a sports jersey of their choice (professional team or personal team) with jeans.)

What is Team Day?  Each month we have a Team Day at school.  It is usually the third Thursday of the month, unless noted otherwise on the calendar.  Students can wear this year’s team shirt with jeans (pants or capris, no holes or embellishments).  On Team Days, students meet with their school family for various school spirit activities.

What is a team shirt?  A team shirt is a school t-shirt you can purchase each fall and wear to school on team days only throughout the school year.  This is a school fundraiser.

What is a school family?  A school family is comprised of one or two students from each grade led by one school “mom” or “dad” from the 8th grade class.  These groups of students gather together on Team Days throughout the year for school spirit activities, service projects, and rosary.
