Math 5:  STAR testing was completed last week and we have finished multi-digit and decimal multiplication.  We will review Tuesday and the assessment will be Thursday, January 24. The students have been introduced to a new adaptive tech learning tool called Freckle. Please encourage regular practice on this site or on Aleks.

Math 6:  STAR testing was completed last week and we have finished division of fractions.  We will review on Tuesday to prepare students for the assessment on Thursday, January 24. The students have been introduced to a new adaptive tech learning tool called Freckle. Please encourage regular practice on this site or on Aleks.

Please continue to work on memorizing multiplication facts at home if your student has not mastered these.

Religion 5/6: This week we will be diving into the story of Cain and Abel as well as the story of Noah and the great flood. Students are now being asked to keep their Religion textbooks in their cubbies and bring them to class regularly rather than leaving them in the desk. Students are also responsible for bringing their Religion notebook to class.

Religion 7/8:  In Religion ⅞, we are marching through the history of our church from its very beginning when Jesus gave the Apostles’ their mission continuing through the present age. The class is making a timeline for display in our room which includes major events and councils. We will also be adding the lives of important Saints to our timeline as we continue our unit. This week we will be discussing Thomas Aquinas and the 5 proofs of God as well as the Protestant Reformation.

Our School Mass this month is Sunday, January 27.  The 5th graders will be reading at this Mass and assignment will be made this week.
