Hello 3rd Grade Families,

It is has been a fantastic first trimester, and Thanksgiving break is upon us. I am very proud of each of our students and the effort that they have put forth thus far this year. Over break, the kids have an optional homework packet to stay mentally in-shape throughout the week. I will ask that you all encourage your student to complete this packet. I hope you all enjoy your time with them over this next week, but I also do want to keep them mentally prepared to get back to work when we return. An extra incentive has been offered to every student who returns from break with a completed homework pack. Hopefully, this prize will help you when encouraging them to do some of the work.

When we return, we will begin a new novel study with The One and Only Ivan, a fantastic story about a gorilla who spent most of his life living in a zoo in a shopping mall. I personally have 3 copies of the book and will share the novel whenever I can. The kids do not need to have their own copy. However, if you would like to look into purchasing the book for your child, I do think it could help them enjoy and experience the story much more.
