Mrs. Montijo’s Class Update Week of 11/12/2018

Math 5 and Math 6: I enjoyed meeting with many of you last week to discuss your child’s progress so far this school year. For those of you who I did not meet with, I am always willing to make time for parents who want to discuss the educational progress of their student. If you would still like to meet with me, please email me at and we will come up with a time. Parents who are involved in their child’s education have a significant impact on their child’s future academic success.

Homework Expectations: Students in 6th grade should be working on math for 30 minutes nightly. Students in Math 5 should be working on for 15-30 minutes nightly. If students have completed the day’s lesson, the remainder of the time should be spent on their ALEKS personalized learning path or Quicktables.

If your student has not yet mastered the multiplication facts, daily work on Quicktables in ALEKS is necessary. Success in math is hindered without easy recall of these facts.

Middle School Religion:

We are concluding our unit on the Rosary. This week students will complete their final mini book on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. I am so pleased with these little books and the creativity exhibited by the students.

Our last test of the trimester will be Wednesday, November 14 and will cover all 20 mysteries of the Rosary.

6th Grade is reading during the school masses this month. Congratulations to Molly and Leanne for reading last week and to those readers who volunteered to read at the Sunday Mass on the 11th.

Wednesday (11/14) Mass readers are Martin (reading and psalm) and Sebastian (petitions).
