Mrs. Montijo’s Class Update Week of 10/8/2018

Math 5: We are strengthening our understanding of place value as we make progress in adding, subtracting, and now multiplying decimals.

Our next Mid Module Quiz will be Tuesday, October 16.

Aleks reminder: Students should be working on their individualized ALEKS learning paths for 15 minutes a night.

If your student has not yet mastered the multiplication facts, daily work on Quicktables in ALEKS is necessary. Success in math is hindered without easy recall to these facts.

Math 6: We continue to work on ratio relationships as represented by ratio tables, tape diagrams and double number lines. This week we will begin to use the ratio relationship to write equations using the value of the ratio.

At home, students should be working on math for 30 minutes nightly. If they have completed the day’s lesson, the remainder of the time should be spent on their ALEKS personalized learning path. If your student has not yet mastered the multiplication facts, daily work on Quicktables in ALEKS is necessary. Success in math is hindered without easy recall to these facts.
