Mrs. Montijo’s Class Update Week of 10/1/2018

Math 5:  Last Friday, the students took their first assessment.  Tests will be coming home for parent signatures this week.

In class, we have will continue in Module 1 in Eureka Math focusing on:

  • Rounding decimal numbers using place value understanding
  • Adding and subtracting decimal numbers

At home, students should be working on the ALEKS learning paths for 15 minutes a night.

If your student has not yet mastered the multiplication facts, daily work on Quicktables in ALEKS is necessary. Success in math is hindered without easy recall to these facts.

Math 6:  Students completed their first assessment on Friday and will be completing test corrections in class.  The tests will be coming home for parent signatures this week. Please take the time to go discuss this assessment with your student.

In class, we continue to work on ratio relationships as represented by ratio tables, tape diagrams and double number lines

At home, students should be working on math for 30 minutes nightly.  If they have completed the day’s lesson, the remainder of the time should be spent on their ALEKS personalized learning path.  If your student has not yet mastered the multiplication facts, daily work on Quicktables in ALEKS is necessary. Success in math is hindered without easy recall to these facts.
