Kinder Newsletter for 12/15/17

Tuesday, December 19th, we will watch The Polar Express with cocoa and a Happy Birthday Jesus cake. Your child may wear PJ’s (no nightgowns) to school and bring a small animal to cuddle with during the movie.

Our school Christmas pageant is on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 am in the Church. Please join us for this wonderful tradition. Children will be released after the celebration. Dress your child in their Sunday best, no spaghetti strap/bare shoulder dresses, jeans, shorts, or athletic shoes.

Thank you for donating toys for our Annual Toy Drive. It was a huge success.

HOMEWORK: None this week

Please practice reading with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

SUPERSTAR: No Super Star due to the short week.

Religion

We discussed the visitation of the Angel Gabriel and how Mary said “Yes” to God. We are still talking about Advent, and how we are preparing our homes for Christmas.

Reading

This week we read The Nesting Dolls, Noisy Nora for the letter Nn, and Olivia and Owen for the letter Oo. The children really enjoyed making their own Nesting Dolls and playing with the small wooden collection that I have in the classroom.

Math

We have been working on adding numbers, and writing numbers to 20. After the holidays we will begin our self-paced math program “Garfield Math”.

MATH HOMEWORK: None

Science/Social Studies

We have been working on several projects for Advent, the Nativity and Christmas.

God Bless,

Mrs. Taylor
