Kindergarten Newsletter for 1/13/17

Please join our school community friends for a fun filled evening, February 11th. Purchase your Gala tickets in support of St. Mary School today!

Space Day will take place Friday, January 27th. Please let me know if you would be interested in working with the students at a center 9:30-11:00. (Sorry, no siblings).

Please join us Sunday, February 29th for St. Mary School Open House 10:00-12:00.

Day 100 is on February 8! We will have many activities that day including a Day 100 project that your child will complete at home. Instructions for the project were sent home earlier this week.

Please have family and friends from around the country send postcards to the school. We would like to collect 100 cards by day 100! Your child will receive them at the end of February.

HOMEWORK: Rr Sound Bag

Math workbook: Pgs. 84-88

Practice sight word reading lists and other long vowel word lists that have been sent home. Please read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

SUPERSTAR: Nicholas – bring your photo album and sharing each day!

Religion We discussed Jesus’ life as a young boy and this Sunday’s Gospel.

Reading

This week we read Pocahontas, two books about Penguins, and If you give a Pig a Pancake, for the letter Pp.

Math

We have been working on adding numbers and began Chapter 7 in our math book.

MATH HOMEWORK: Pgs. 84-88

Cooking

We had pancakes for the letter Pp.

Science/Social Studies

We learned several facts about Penguins. We began our unit on planets and the solar system.

We also created many projects about snowmen.
