We enjoyed the 2nd grade All Saints Day Pageant and have something to look forward to when our class is in second grade.
On Monday we enjoyed a visit from the Escondido Fire Department and the Ladder Truck they brought to show our students. They were amazed to see the ladder go 100 feet in the air!
Although, we are not leaving campus – Please remember to return your child’s permission slip for the SD Natural History Museum class visit, which will take place on Tuesday.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place next week on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. Please sign up on Signup Genius http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a44a8ac2fa6fa7-kinder to meet with me and to receive your child’s first report card. This meeting is mandatory. These days will be a 12:00 noon release. Students may not attend the conference.
HOMEWORK: Math worksheets – Ordinal numbers – some students are having difficulty with this math concept.
Please read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

Religion
We learned about 5 different Saints this week. St. Francis, St. Therese, St. Patrick, St. Kateri and St. Nicholas. We also discussed All Saints Day and this Sunday’s Gospel.
Reading This week we read Harry the Dirty Dog, Mrs. Holiday’s Handwriting School and Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs for the letter Hh.
Math We continue with Chapter 4. We are working on ordinal numbers and grouping numbers. MATH HOMEWORK: Worksheets – Ordinal numbers.
Cooking We made cookie hamburgers for the letter Hh.
Science/Social Studies We began a new unit on Native American Indians, Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving.
