Kinder Newsletter for Oct. 14, 2016

Monday is Grandparent’s Day with a 12:00 noon dismissal for everyone. Please see the school newsletter for more information.

We will leave from our classroom at 9:00 am on Tuesday for our field trip to Bates Nut Farm. We should return by 1:00. Please leave a booster seat for your child if you are not attending. Have your child wear blue jeans, a red polo or plain red t-shirt and athletic shoes. Bring a sack lunch.

Please read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

Religion

We learned how God made the animals. We also discussed this Sunday’s Gospel.

Reading

This week we read about Christopher Columbus, the second ½ of Dandelion and Different- Just Like Me for the sound of Dd. We also read about Eagles for the letter Ee. We are working on the long vowel sound of Ee such as ear, easel, eel, eagle, eat, earring etc.

 Math

We began Chapter 4. This chapter discusses number recognition and number writing, one-to-one items and fewer/most.

Cooking

We made EASY Mac for the letter Ee.

 Science

We are still learning about dinosaurs through a variety of activities. We also learned about the growth of a pumpkin from seed to jack-o-lantern.
