Kinder Newsletter for Sept. 30, 2016

Written Progress Reports went home today in your child’s home folder. Some grades have also been entered onto Grade Link. Please print this out and return both to me on Monday, October 3rd.

Please empty your child’s home folder each night and review the papers that are sent home. Please practice writing letters A-C, both upper and lower case. Your child is practicing tracing/writing their name correctly each morning. As soon as they have mastered this skill they will receive a journal and will no longer have to trace their name.

NO MATH HOMEWORK since we completed chapter 1.

Please have your child practice coloring properly, cutting on lines, and writing letters. Remember when practicing, “Quality is better than quantity”. Also, please read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

A share day schedule is in your child’s folder. Sharing begins on Monday.

Religion

We learned how God made the water, how we use it and need to conserve it.

Reading

This week we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Carrot Seed and Corduroy for the letter Cc.

Math

We have been working on sorting objects by their color, size and shape. We took our first test on Chapter 1.

NO MATH HOMEWORK since we completed chapter 1.

Cooking

We made Colorful Candy, for the letter Cc.

Science

Our projects this week included a listening matching game, creating a paper mosaic rainbow, and creating a Jell-O smelling craft.

Enjoy your weekend!
