Kinder Newsletter for 1/29/2016

Thank you to all the families that attended the Open House last Sunday, along with making our Grandparents’ Day a great success.

Space Day was a culminating activity to end our unit on the Solar System. The kids had a great time doing all the different activities.

February 9th at 5:00 pm I will hold a Kindergarten Informational meeting night. Please let all your friends know about this event if they are considering St. Mary’s for kindergarten. Current kindergarten parents do not need to attend.

HOMEWORK: Work on your 100 Day poster that is due February 10th.

We have completed the alphabet for Sound Bags.

Math: Ten Frame Practice worksheets.

Please read with your child each night for at least 20 minutes.

SUPERSTAR: Ella- bring your poster and sharing each day!

 

If anyone would like to come in and share about his or her job please let me know.

Religion We discussed how Jesus is always with us and that we can pray any time and anywhere. We also discussed Sundays’ Gospel.

Reading This week we read Verdi for the letter Vv and Wemberly Worried and Wyatt’s Wagon for the letter Ww.

Math We are working on chapter 8, subtracting numbers, along with Garfield Math. We will be going back to Chapter 3 (positions- in front, behind, next to etc.) next week.

Cooking We made a veggie dip that we ate with different vegetables for the letter Vv.

Science/Social Studies

We finished up our unit on the Solar System. For the month of February we will discuss community helpers and the Presidents.
